Global textware team celebrate 10th anniversary in Dublin

The entire Global textware team and their significant others celebrated the company's 10th anniversary in Dublin in the weekend of June 8 to 10, 2007. This destination was chosen largely because 'Dublin' is one of the most-used words at the translation agency's offices. The intention was to learn more about this often-mentioned city as well as having a good time there.

And we did have a great time, not least because Ireland's notorious climate took some time off, to be replaced by warm spring sunshine. The fact that the hotel was still under construction didn't spoil the fun either - our rooms were excellent and very comfortable indeed (see photographs). After some careful reconnaissance in the entertainment district on Friday night, and a good night's sleep, we took a hop on hop off the bus tour to see Dublin's nicest and most interesting sights. Based on this, the party could decide whether or not to take a closer look at any one sight. Different groups then paid visits to the Trinity College (with the Book of Kells), St. Stephen's Green, St. Patrick's Cathedral, museums and many other famous locations - but they also got some shopping done. The photographs speak for themselves. The day ended with an excellent dinner for the entire crew at the 101 Talbot Restaurant, followed by an evening in various pubs in the Temple Bar, Dublin's centre for nightlife.

Before starting on the journey home, there was still an opportunity to purchase souvenirs, while some of us elected to visit the port on the Howth peninsula. This, too, has been captured in photographic form.

We look back on this very successful weekend with great satisfaction. For most of us, this was our first contact with the city of Dublin, and many of us expressed a desire to go back some time. Dublin is certainly worth a visit!
