In the spring of 2006 I began working at Global textware, together with Lars. Ever since I learned Latin at school, I have known I wanted to be a translator. As I went on to study English at the university of Groningen, I therefore specialized in Translation studies. For me, being a translator is being creative with words and occasionally solving puzzles. It's always rewarding to be able to find a solution to a difficult sentence at last.

Here at Global textware I work on the Google and Canon accounts. Besides manuals, I like translating texts that allow me some more freedom to be creative with words, like marketing texts. Since I came here, my colleagues have helped me acquire more skills and my tasks have gradually been expanded, from translating to proofreading and project management. I have learned a lot working with these experienced people, and it's very nice to watch your own gradual development. And it' s always very nice to see your own translations in use in Google Earth :-)

Besides translating I like reading, swimming, cooking, gardening, and dancing. I especially like the historical dances we perform (in crinolines) with the historical dancing group I joined, and Irish dancing. I'd still like to learn the Argentine tango, though.

I enjoy being part of this group of young/youthful people, to learn a lot and to gain a lot of experience.
