During and after my course in Dutch Languages and Literature in Groningen I have worked several jobs in large companies and bars. In the beginning of 2006 I commenced working at Global textware as an in-house translator where I soon picked up the tricks of the trade.
The work is challenging through its variation. One moment your doing a tight deadline translation, the next you doing a marcom review or setting up a project. That variation is what keeps the work interesting with never a dull moment. At Global textware I'm currently working on accounts of major players in the world of IT and computer hardware, but I was also involved in translating the Dutch website of a well known supplier of audio equipment.
I was born in Groningen and have lived there practically my whole life, but just recently I have moved to Leeuwarden together with my wife and two kids. Global has given me the opportunity to do part of my work at home. That gives me a lot of freedom and flexibility, relatively speaking, and allows me to step in more easily in regards to taking care of my kids.
For me Global textware is a company with a lot of opportunity for growing and because of the working atmosphere and collegiality I feel right at home here. |
