I was born in Groningen in 1976 and grew up in Zuid-Holland. I returned to Groningen to study English at university. After finishing my studies I worked at a call center for a short time. The job was very simple and not very challenging, so I decided to look for a job which would present a bigger challenge. This is how I started at Global textware and I've been working here for over 5 years now. The atmosphere is very comfortable and personal because the company is relatively small.
From the start I have worked on projects such as Lexmark and Microsoft. Currently most of my time is spent on projects such as Canon, Novell and F-Secure.
My tasks vary every day and consist of translating, proofing and project management. I find that translating is one of the nicest parts of the job.
I can get along quite well with my colleagues and together we make a great team. Someone is always willing to help out if necessary and there is always something to laugh about.
In the evenings and weekends I spend most of my time fixing up the house I bought with my partner. As we live just outside of Groningen I have to travel to work every day, which I do by bicycle. I enjoy reading, watching films, gardening and going for walks with my dog. |
