The Groningen 4 Mile run (4 mijl van Groningen) is an annual running event in which both individuals and companies can participate. One important part of this event is the Charity run, held each year in support of a good cause. The cause for 2008 was the Make a Wish Foundation.The foundation fulfils the wishes of children between the ages of three and eighteen years who are suffering from a life-threatening illness. € 57,915 was raised for the foundation this year.

2008 marked the first year Global textware sent a team to the event for companies. The team consisted of a number of sports-minded employees and was filled out by some guests. Having prepared themselves thoroughly, the team left the company premises on the Hoendiepskade to head for the botanical gardens in Haren, from where they ran to the Vismarkt in Groningen. After the finish, a good after-event time was had in one of the tents near the finish. The team evaluated the event while enjoying refreshments offered by the organisation.
